Patient Information

Below are instructions for some of the tests performed by Dr. Bavishi. If other tests are recommended by Dr. Bavishi to diagnose or treat a condition, the instructions and information concerning those procedures will be provided at that time.

Colonoscopy Instructions

A colonoscopy allows a physician to examine the interior of the lower gastrointestinal tract, specifically the colon and rectum. Before a colonoscopy is performed, some preparations are required prior to the date of the procedure. This is necessary so that the colon and rectum are cleared up so that they can be properly examined. Immediately below, Dr. Bavishi has instructions for two different types of preparations and recommends one or the other in a consultation depending on which is most appropriate for you. Please make sure that you select the instruction set that Dr. Bavishi specified and follow those instructions. Also, please call us if you have any questions.

Upper GI Endoscopy Instructions

An upper GI endoscopy, also known as an esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), allows for the examination of the upper GI tract, specifically the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. Before an endoscopy is performed, some preparations are required prior to the date of the procedure. The preparation for an endoscopy is considered to be simpler and less intensive compared to the preparation for a colonoscopy. Below, please find Dr. Bavishi’s instructions for preparing for an endoscopy. Also, please call us if you have any questions.
